Kevin Browne: Songs

Victoria

(Kevin Browne)
July, 2005
The family I stayed with in Norway always picks "rips" in July to make jam, etc. Victoria, one of their daughters, really didn't like doing this, but I just had some fun with the text. She really does like surfing the internet and singing though.
Victoria, hun plukke gjerne bær
Og hun vil plante mange eplertrær
Hun synes det er kjempe, kjempe gøy
Da kan hun lage masse syltetøy

Fiddle-dee-dee, fiddle-dee-dum, fiddle-dee-ay
What a lovely day
Fiddle-dee-dee, fiddle-dee-dum, fiddle-dee-ay
Picking berries in Norway

Victoria, hun er en nettdronning
Og synger “sing star” som belønning
Hun er aldri sint, men alltid søt
Bærer rips forsiktig, fordi er skjør(t)

ref.
July 2005

(English translation)
Victoria, she likes to pick berries
And she wants to plant a bunch of apple trees
She thinks it is really fun
Then she can make a bunch of jam/jelly
(chorus in English)
Victoria, she is an internet queen
And she sings “Sing Star” for a reward
She is never angry, but always sweet/nice
She carries currants carefully, because they are fragile
