From the recording Song for Elizabeth

I wrote this song for Debbie's mom. She was born in Iran, the daughter of medical missionaries. Elizabeth was probably the most generous person we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We miss her.

Lyrics

Far from the place where her journey began
She crossed over oceans and oceans again
And painted a picture, simple yet grand for us

Gentle her words and peaceful the plan
That God undertook with her hand over hand
He brought her wisdom so we’d understand for his honor

-chorus-
And this is where it takes her
Preserved by God’s good hand
Mercy will unfold here
And this she understands

Far from the home where her courage was formed
She crossed over pain and passed through the storm
And composed a story, simple yet warm for us

Gentle her words and gracious her stance
Liberal her gifts, open of hand
And God has bestowed on her purpose and plan for his glory
